This month's ride, led by Paula Kelly was in the Hazelwood North area. The weather forecast was for hot conditions, but there was a strong wind which kept the temperature down.
Four new members joined the group, one bringing his four year old along, she finished the ride in good form. A real little cutie.
A bit of drama before ride-out created a bit of a headache when the car holding paperwork etc. ..locked itself...RACV to the rescue on returning to the floats.
The ride skirted forest and mature pines with some really good climbs and descents, continuing through some lovely forested tracks then out through harvested areas where the views were amazing, overlooking the populated areas below.
All horses were well behaved and riders were able to talk to one another. There were 9 riders. The new members all seemed very happy with their first experience and look forward to future rides.
Many thanks to our cooks, lunch was ready for us when we got back, much appreciated. Thanks also to our leader, drag rider and trail boss for looking after us.
A great ride, we all made new friends who were good company.
The next scheduled ride is to be Stockdale on the March long weekend, this can be two or three nights camping.
