I will be out there Saturday the 29th May 2010 at Kurth Kiln It is 7.5 kms from Gembrook or 13 kms from Yarra Junction, from the north ie Kilmore down the Tulla over Bolte Bridge onto the Monash Freeway to Wellington Rd follow to Emerald thru to Cockatoo then to Gembrook, turn left into Gembrook Launching Place road then look for signs to Kurth Kiln appprox. 3.5kms from Gembrook. (Example- I would expect from Kilmore it would take no more than two and a half hours)The tracks we will ride will be reasonably flat with the occasional gully to go down and back up. It is very soft underfoot so is ideal for horses that are not shod. There are plenty of trees for nightlines but no grass areas so hay and hard feed is required, a creek, along the way is availanble for horses to drink. No water is at the camp site but the creek is not far from camp for horse water. It is a heavily timbered area with fern gullies, fires are permitted at camp. I will organise wood for a communal fire cheers Gary H
