November CAMP – Rockleigh – Friday 1 – Sunday 3 November  2013

Ride Description -Peter and Elaine Mant at Rockleigh have very kindly said that we can have the use of their property.  We have around 400 acres to ride on. I am planning on being there by about 11am on the Friday.

• Friday we can go for a ride of 2 or 3hrs on the property.
• Saturday it can be a day ride on the Kidman Trail.
• Sunday will be decided around the camp fire Saturday night.

 

The camp fees are $10.00 a night. If you wish the use of toilet and shower it will be an extra $2.00 a night. If you have a camp toilet it might be a good idea to bring it.

There is plenty of wood on site for a camp fire.

We will all need to sign a waiver. No sign, no ride.

Directions – Peter and Elaine Mant's property, 423 Rockleigh Road, Rockleigh

1. Take the Mt Torrens Road from Birdwood. Travel 6km.

2. Turn left onto the Tungkillo/Mannum Road (opposite the pub!)

3. Travel 1.5km and turn right onto Rockleigh Road at Wilbur's Cattle yards. Rockleigh/ Tepko Rd

4. Shortly after turning, bear left to stay on the Tepko Road. Don't go onto Warmington Run!

5. Stay on this road for 17.1 kms. (You might notice that the property signs now call the road Black Heath Road!)

6. You will see a cross road sign and an arrow showing the road bends to the left. Take the road on the right. The sign says Callington, Also Uniting Church.

7. Travel 3.8 kms, passing the Old School House (One of the Kidman Trail trial heads!) and tennis court.

8. Look for a gate on the right hand side! There will be ribbons/ balloons etc on a tree!

9. If you get to the church you have gone too far! Go back!!! The house entrance to Peter and Elaine's is across the road from the church - but this is not the way in to the camp site!

 

Cost -ATHRA member $2 ride fee/day or $4 for the weekend.Non ATHRA member riding visitor fee $25/day – 2 days maximum (please be advised that if you are not a member of ATHRA you will need to be sponsored by an ATHRA member to ride).  Please bring thecorrect change & place in tin at sign on book.
