Imbil State Forest/Kenilworth) CLUB MEMBERS ONLY

This riding camp for the club will be held at Charlie Moreland campground in Imbil State Forest just south of Kenilworth. Riding will be on various forest trails and members who have been there on private riding trips rave about the place. Riding will take place on Saturday and Sunday and the early arrivals may have a Friday afternoon ride. As usual it is recommended that your horse is shod.
You need to book your campsite via the internet at derm.qld.gov.au click on camping and vehicle permits, book a camping permit, location – Imbil State Forest Kenilworth, Charlie Moreland camping area and pay the required fee on your credit card - $5 per person per night and horses free. You collect your camping tag at the self registration booth at the park entrance.
Camping:The camp ground has toilets and water is available. The club has a camp shower. You will have to supply your own camping gear and food. Bring a small bag of firewood to help with our campfire. There is no electricity or generators and no dogs. There are shops at Kenilworth.
Horses:There is a large fenced paddock for the horses but you will need to bring electric fencing to make your own horse enclosure in that paddock. Water is available for the horses but you need to bring all your own horse gear and food.
Directions:There are two options. Travel up the Bruce Highway and turn off via Landsborough ( Australia Zoo turnoff ) Maleny and towards Kenilworth. Charlie Moreland entrance is about 6km before Kenilworth on the left. Alternatively travel the Bruce Highway to the Kenilworth/Eumundi off ramp, proceed left to Kenilworth continue through town 6km towards Maleny and the Charlie Moreland entrance is on your right. Travel times will be about the same both routes – approx 3hrs driving time from the Jimboomba area.
