September ride – Marananga Trail Ride And Wine Tasting Tour – Sunday 20 September 2015

Ride Description: - Trail ride will be on mostly white gravel and soft clay roads with a few fords (most are dry) with wide easements on the side of roads, always slashed. Great views of the surrounding district towards Freeling/ Gawler/Seppeltsfield.
Heading to Hentley Farms Wines first by 11am for a stop on their lovely grass and taste. A $10 fee for tasting but that comes off your purchase. PLEASE BRING HALTER /ROPE. (There will be a follow up vehicle travelling behind for any items (wine etc) that cannot be carried.) From there we travel on a quiet windy road toward Tanunda and then ride Parallel along Tanunda’s farming district toward Nuriootpa , then we arrive at WHISTLER WINES for a stop under there shady Gum trees for a late lunch/drink/taste .You can BYO FOOD/DRINK or purchase there.
Then it’s a straight ride down the main road (lots of space on side of road for horses) and through Marananga down to see the Palms of Seppeltsfield then over the hill to the right side of Seppeltsfield and back across to Hempel Rd and to Floats. APPROX RIDE TIME 4HRS
Directions: - Michelle’s Place, lot 43 Hempel Rd DAVEYSTON.
On the Sturt Highway heading towards Greenock –Nuriootpa = You will see the Laucke Flour Mill on your left , keep going ~500 metres & turn left at the DAVEYSTON-FREELING exit. Then turn an immediate right onto the OLD Sturt Highway Rd (the main street of Daveyston). Continue through and under the HIGHWAY Bridge which turns into a dirt road, which is Hempel rd. You will see a vineyard on the left and ~200m up the road on the left is my place. Signs will be posted as usual. A portable toilet will be available as well as drinking water. Coffee and Tea/bikkies also.
