Itinerary for South Australia Ride – Gladstone to Quorn Saturday 19th – Saturday 26th September 2015
Friday 18th – Can arrive at Gladstone Oval
Saturday 19th
Gladstone to Laura (approx. 13 klm)
Breakfast at Happy Rock Café. Ride out at 10.00am.
Blessing of the horses in the township of Gladstone
Lunch at the North Laura Hotel
Historic tour on Horseback around town
Camp at Football Oval Cost $30.00
Sunday 20th
Laura to Wirrabara Forest (approx. 30 klm)
BBQ Lunch
Set up Camp in forest
Dinner at O’Rielly’s Restaurant Cost $55.00
Monday 21st
Ride to Wirrabara Township (approx. 12 klm)
Ride through sections of the forest on the way to the pub for lunch
Set up Camp at Wirrabara Cost $20.00
Tuesday 22nd
Drive from Wirrabara to bridle track (27 klm) unload horses and ride along Bridle Trail to Port Germien (approx. 25 klm). BYO Saddle Bag lunch.
Set up camp at Port Germein. Rhinestone Cowboy night at pub. Cost $25.00
Wednesday 23rd
Land trail ride at Port Germein. Lunch at pub. BBQ on foreshore after tidal flat ride on beach. Cost $30.00
Thursday 24th
Pack up and drive to Quorn (140 klm). Ride around town. Drinks at pub. Tea at pub of own choice. Pay individually.
Friday 25th
Outback trail/Visit Wilpena Pound/ Ruins. Pay for own meal on day. Trying to organise a bus to take everyone.
Opportunity to also ride in Arena adjacent to camp area.
Cost approx. $45.00
Saturday 26th
Load horses on train. Pichi Richi train Ride to Woolshed Flats. Lunch at own cost. Trail ride back to Quorn. Dinner at local hotel at own cost. Cost $50.00
Sunday 27th – Return home
Notes – Where there is a cost; that will include the food at the Café, Train Ride, Pub or BBQ that is mentioned on that day. No drinks are paid for or desserts.
Horse friendly locations to stop overnight, should you want to do the trip over two days, will be advised upon register of ride.
There will be drivers allocated to take your float and car to each place where we ride to. These drivers will have licence checks and you will have names supplied for insurance information. The driver cost will be incorporated in the total amount.
No dogs, colts or stallions unless arranged prior please.
