Eldorado – Queens’ Birthday Weekend.
Gemstone Caravan Park 5th,6th,7th & 8th of June 2015
THIS CAMP is ONLY OPEN to R.C.T.H.R.C. MEMBERS
Limited to a total of 50 Horses.
Eldorado is situated approximately 2 ½ Hours from Melbourne CBD, straight up the Hume Highway. There is a turn off, on the right hand side heading North from Wangaratta, off the Hume Highway, sign posted Eldorado 14 klms.
It is a small quaint, historical mining town.Gemstone Caravan Park, is just past the Pub, opposite the Museum, on your left hand side. R.C.T.H.R.C. signs will be out.
Rides will be conducted Saturday and Sunday.
Ride out time is 10.00am; bring your own saddle bag lunch for both days. Time back at camp is approximately 2.30pm - 3.00pm..
Friday and Saturday is for you to supply your own food.
There is a communal BBQ area for all to use and gather in the evenings if you wish.
On Sunday night we will be heading over to the Eldorado Pub for dinner, which is a stones throw from Gemstone, this is optional and at your cost.
Dinner is at 6.30pm but you can wander over there anytime you like!
Most of you will be arriving on the Friday night. You must bring your own yarding/ electric fencing.
We have been allocated a large paddock to make our yards in, you will need to keep the size of your yard moderate so we can fit everybody in.
( PLEASE do not fence the water troughs in, )
We need to be organized as they don’t usually allow more than 20-25 horses. They are willing to go to 50 for us this time as they know we are a well-organized group.
You MUST nominate with Lloyd first,
then you will need to contact Doug or Joy at Gemstone Caravan Park and book your required site option.
Gemstone Caravan Park has Cabins, Onsite Vans, and Powered & Non Powered sites available.

The riding terrain is along forestry and bridle tracks, some hills, rocky in areas, sandy with some shallow water crossings.
· Horses are to be reasonably fit, with feet adequately conditioned and / or shod.
· No Stallions.
· Breastplates and Cruppers are recommended.
· Horses known to kick must wear a red ribbon in their tail.
· Under 18’s must wear an approved riding helmet.
· Riders under 16 must be under adult supervision and have a signed approval.
· Dogs are not permitted on the ride itself but when in the Caravan Park area must be on a lead at all times.
· All riders must adhere to the RCTHRC rules which incorporate the ATHRA Code of Conduct.
· All riders must advise the Ride Leader of any medical condition prior to the commencement of the ride.
· RCTHRC recommends that all riders have ambulance cover.
Ride out time 10:00am both days.
