The trail boss will be on site from 7:00 am so you can arrive early and sign in then have plenty of time to walk the course [without your horse]. There are a few more forms to complete than at the usual ATHRA event so be prepared.
COMPETITION STARTS AT 8.30 AM SHARP COURSE CLOSES FOR WALK THROUGH AT 8.15 AM SHARP
Cost: $5 SECTRA members, $10 ATHRA members BYO food and drink. There is a dam available for horse watering. No - alcohol, dogs, stallions or rigs.
Helmets are optional but advised for adults, children under 18 must wear a helmet as per ATHRA regulations.
Divisions/classes - Novice [for riders with very limited experience in ANY equine discipline] - Intermediate [for riders with some experience in ANY equine discipline] - Experienced [for riders with experience in ANY equine discipline] - Green Horse [for HORSES with very limited experience in ANY discipline] - Led Horse [a non rider class]
There are four courses. Course 1 is a 3 obstacle ground work points course. Course 2-3 are points courses featuring 6 obstacles each over a 100 metre [approx] course. Course 4 is approx 300 metres of bush riding with some man made obstacles. Course 4 is timed however can be ridden at any pace you are comfortable with. Points are tallied to give overall class winners with ribbons awarded to 3rd place.
Each obstacle in Courses 1-3 has three levels of difficulty. Riders/Handlers walk the course prior to competition and then fill in their score sheet detailing what level of difficulty for each obstacle they wish to attempt. Full details of all obstacles will be available on the day. If time permits all riders will have the opportunity of a second run on all courses.
