Riddells Creek Trail Horse Riding Club Inc. Eldorado Ride Notice June 10th – 13th 2016 Queens Birthday Weekend. THIS CAMP is ONLY OPEN to RCTHRC MEMBERS Limited to a total of 40 Horses. Once you have confirmed your nomination (see below) you can then contact the Gemstone Caravan Park ph: 5725 1745 and make a reservation for your camp site / powered or unpowered, they also have limited numbers of on-site caravans & units. There will be a deposit requested on booking. You must bring your own yarding/ electric fencing. We have been allocated a large paddock to make our yards in, you will need to keep the size of your yard moderate so we can fit everybody in. PLEASE do not fence the water troughs in and remember it is very important to abide by the following rules - All horses are to be below the lower road – in the non powered area and paddocks only. Horses are not to be in the camping area. All horse manure dropped in the camping grounds and entrances to the park to be picked up and disposed of. Any manure in paddocks and yards is to be collected and placed at the nominated area.. Horses being ridden are to leave and enter the park via the back gate near the park garage. Hoses are available at the taps in the main paddock – please use the water wisely. Speed Limit is 10 kph in the park. Owners of horses bring them into the Gemstone Caravan Park at their own risk. Gemstone Caravan Park will not be responsible for any injury or illness sustained by horses while they are in the park. Ride out time is 10.00am; bring your own saddle bag lunch for both days. We will be back at camp approximately 2.30pm both days. The Pub which is walking distance from the caravan park will have a band on the Sunday afternoon and will be open for meals Saturday & Sunday. There is a communal BBQ /fire area for all to use and gather in the evenings if you wish. The riding terrain is along forestry and bridle tracks, some hills, rocky in areas, sandy with some shallow water crossings. Horses are to be reasonably fit, with feet adequately conditioned and / or shod. No Stallions. Breastplates and Cruppers are recommended. Horses known to kick must wear a red ribbon in their tail. Under 18’s must wear an approved riding helmet. Riders under 16 must be under adult supervision and have a signed approval. Dogs are not permitted All riders must adhere to the RCTHRC rules which incorporate the ATHRA Code of Conduct. All riders must advise the First Aider of any medical condition prior to the commencement of the ride. RCTHRC recommends that all riders have ambulance cover.
