Requirements:-
Riders under 18 must wear an approved helmet
It is recommended that riders wear full length trousers and sleeved shirt. Suitable footwear which prevents foot sliding forward through the stirrup iron must be worn
BYO Morning Tea, drinking water for yourself
Any equipment taken on horse such as camera to be in a saddlebag, backpack or bum bag
Recommendation that horses be shod, unless you practice barefoot or use hoof boots
No dogs on ride
Relevant medical details to be provided including medication if required
All juniors are to be under the direct supervision of a nominated adult
Start Location
Drive to Wallerawang and from the Railway Bridge follow Commens St up to the old Great Western Highway (Forest Ridge Drive) and turn right. Park at the start of the forest about 1 km from the Commens Street Junction. This is adjacent to the natural gas pipeline enclosure.
Ride Description
The ride is along the Bicentennial National Trail and follows 4WD tracks and fire trails in the Lidsdale State Forest. The ride will be one way and a car shuffle will be arranged. The horses will have the use of the yards at the Rydal Showground during the car shuffle. Some parts are quite steep but generally easy going.
Lunch
We will be having a BBQ sausage sizzle at Rydal Showground. Bring chairs and drinks.
Hazards
There are some exposed areas and if windy it will be a tad uncomfortable. Make sure you bring a jumper.
