RCTHRC - GLENLYON DAY RIDE SUNDAY 9TH OCTOBER 2016
Ride will be through the Wombat State Forest and leaving from Glenlyon Pony Club Grounds at Glenlyon Recreational Reserve, where we normally have Easter camp. Terrain is undulating with some hilly sections (nothing too daunting); track surface will be mostly gravel with some soft surface.
Ride out at 10am, stop for lunch in the forest and return to the floats around 2.30pm. Tea/coffee & cake will be provided after the ride.
Camping is allowed at the grounds if you wish to camp over on the Saturday night. We will have a campfire & music, please bring your own food & provisions. There are toilets and water but no shower or power. Please bring portable yards for your horse as there will be no communal paddock available. (There maybe some civic works to the toilet block so please ensure you camp responsibly and avoid that area). No nominations required just turn up.

Horses are to be reasonably fit, with feet adequately conditioned and / or shod. Stallions only by approval. Breastplates and Cruppers are recommended. Horses known to kick must wear a red ribbon in their tail. Under 18’s must wear an approved riding helmet. Riders under 16 must be under adult supervision and have a signed approval. RCTHRC recommends that all riders have Ambulance cover. Dogs are not permitted on the ride itself but when in the camping area must be on a lead at all times. All riders must adhere to the RCTHRC rules which incorporate the ATHRA Code of Conduct. All riders must advise the Ride Leader of any medical condition prior to the commencement of the ride.
