Ride on Sunday 13kms north of Armidale.
"Newholme Station" Sunday 4th June at 10.00am
Directions: Newholme Station is at the end of Newholme Rd. Newholme Rd is 13km (about 15 minutes) North of Armidale on the New England Hwy. So basically head for Guyra, when you pass Kiwelli Dog kennels it's the next turn on the left off N.E Hwy. It is Signed. Turn right again immediately. Follow Newholme Rd for about 400m to the Grid, once you go over the Grid you are in Newholme Station.
You can park either side of the Grid, or go along about 100m there is a turning circle on the right opposite the letterboxes. This is a good area to park for trucks, goose-necks, and floats towed by cars. The ride starts from the Grid
Arrival: This ride is starting later than the previous month's as it will be shorter. Please arrive between 9.00 and 9.30 to allow plenty of time to park, unload, saddle up and register. Leonie is Ride Co-ordinator so please go to her to sign in so she does not have to chase after you.
Ride Description: Newholme Station is not a large property so maybe 2hr ride out to a boulder lookout area for lunch then approx 1hrs - 2h ride back. so aiming for 10am to 3pm.
Ride Conditions: There are undulating pastures, there will be a couple of small creek crossings in small gullies. It is mostly soft underfoot so barefoot should be ok, if there is gravel there should be side areas to get off. We may ride home on gravel road. There may be one or two cars. Apart from that it is a gentle easy ride. Its a good ride for young horses. BYO saddle bag lunch.
RSVP: To Leonie Lane on 0411 053 879 by Thursday 1st June at the latest!
