KDTRC Greendale Ride hosted by Garry Fischer
Where – This ride is being lead by Garry Fischer (0400640433) and will be leaving from the paddock (on your right hand side just before the creek crossing), approximately 1 km down Brady Lane, Greendale
When – 9.45 horseless muster for 10am ride out.
Come and sign in with AMY
Directions – Brady Lane is situated opposite the Greendale Hotel, so if you are coming from Trentham on Greendale / Trentham Road, turn right at the roundabout and follow the signs. If you are coming from Ballan on the Ballan / Blackwood Road, turn left at the roundabout and again follow the signs. If you are coming from Melbourne / Bacchus Marsh area on the Greendale / Myrniong Road, just go straight through the roundabout and follow the signs. Once you turn at the round about, follow the lane along for about 1km to the paddock.
Ride – This is a great ride in the State Forest with some very pretty areas, lots of undulating terrain (so don’t forget your breastplates and cruppers). Saddle bag lunch will be at an old mine site. The duration of this ride is about 4 hours. The pace will not be fast but there are lots of obstacles, steep creek crossings, old mine shafts, undulating terrain, etc.
Conditions – Mostly hilly single trail through bush, creeks and gullies. This is a really special ride and not one to be missed however, this is not suited for real beginner riders or horses as there are some steep creek crossings and areas where we will be negotiating obstacles. It is also important that your horse is fit enough for a good 4 hour ride of hilly terrain, so please don’t bring horses that have just been sitting in the paddock.
Bring – Saddle bag lunch, drink bottle, halter and lead.
Nominations/RSVP –. Garry via call or text message on 0400 640 433 Any non-ATHRA members must do the on-line Day Membership before they turn up to the ride.... see the ATHRA website for details.
