The Baringhup Trail Riders Inc is a group of people with a common love of trail riding, the outdoors and having fun. The Club was formed in February 2007, originally based around Baringhup but now covering a much broader area of central Victoria. Our rides vary in location from month to month, mainly in the Bendigo, Castlemaine and Guildford areas but it is not unusual to have camps further afield . Please refer to our Ride Calendar on the club's Facebook site for up to date information.
We ride usually every 3rd Sunday of the month although this can vary and we can ride more than once a month. Most members ride multiple times per month, or week even, and love the company of other members! Club riders regularly ride with other ATHRA clubs on their monthly rides and often take part in larger scale trail rides further away.
We have some great rides planned each year: both day rides, weekend rides and joint rides with nearby clubs.
Our Club Membership fee is $26 annually for adults (18+) or you can come along and try as a day member for $20.00 ATHRA Day Insurance plus a $5 club ride fee; total fee $25. Membership for juniors (5 to 17) is $10. Visiting ATHRA members are more than welcome to attend for a club fee of $5.
Our activities include:
· Day rides
· Week end (or multiple day) base camp rides
· Other social activities such as BBQ's, joint rides with other clubs
What You Need
· A horse: does not matter what kind of horse you have ... so long as it is capable of covering the distance required and comfortable riding with other horses.
· All your own riding gear (saddlery)
· Your own transport (if you are lucky you may be able to hitch a ride, but don't rely on it)
· If you want to stay for the night: All camping gear for yourself and overnight gear for your horse (There are a lot of experienced overnighters in the club, so don't be afraid to ask, what to bring)
· A degree of horse knowledge and common sense
