This ride is open to TTHRInc club members, ATHRA members and non-members, who will be required to pay a Day ride fee of $30 for insurance purposes.

Ride Register: It is a requirement that all participants sign the ride register upon arrival at the ride base. A parent or guardian MUST sign the register for junior riders (under 18).
Ride Start Time: 9.00 am. NO LATE STARTERS, SORRY
Directions: From Canberra, travel south though Cooma. Turn right onto the Snowy Mountains Highway. Continue on Hwy past Adaminaby. Approx 60 kms past Adaminaby turn right through stone entryway onto Long Plain Rd. Continue down Long Plain Rd. 14kms, cross Murrumbidgee River and turn right to Cooinbil Hut.
Ride Description: Weather permitting, a 20 km ride following bridal paths and fire trails through undulating open and timbered country in high country in Cooinbil Hut, Ghost Gully area.

Ride Warnings/Alerts: In this country you are likely to encounter water crossings, bogs, hidden old wire fence-lines and burrows, roaming wild horses, heavy timber and occasional steep descents/ ascents. Alpine country weather conditions can be very changeable. Prepare for hot & dry, rain or wintry conditions.
Ride Difficulty: Easy to moderate
Horse Fitness: Horses must be reasonably fit and sound
Estimated Duration: 5 to 6 hours including lunch
Catering: BYO all food.
Equipment: Please bring portable fencing or yards. You will need to provide your own tent, camping and cooking gear and drinking water. Toilet facilities are available but not showers.
Horse feed: Must be weed free and seed free. Seed-free lucerne or extruded feed only.
Water Availability: River and creeks . Boil human drinking water or bring your own.
First Aid: A basic first aid kit will be carried on the ride.
Emergency Contact: Mobile phone coverage is intermittent . Hand held radios will be carried on rides.
Helmets: All junior riders (under 18) MUST wear AS/NZ 3838 or ASTM F 1163 helmets less than five years old.
Horse Shoes: Shoeing is recommended but not essential. Recommend that you carry boots if your horse is unshod.
Dogs/Stallions: Not allowed
