Ellendon Wind Farm Day Ride, Saturday 14 September 2013

This ride is open to TTHRInc club members, ATHRA members and non members, who will be required to pay a Day ride fee of $30 for insurance purposes.

Ride Register: It is a requirement that all participants sign the ride register upon arrival at the ride base. A parent or guardian MUST sign the register for junior riders (under 18).
Ride Start Time: 9.30 am for 10.00 am. NO LATE STARTERS, SORRY.
Directions: From Queanbeyan take the Kings Highway to Bungendore. From the Bungendore roundabout, follow the Goulburn/Tarago Road 6.1 kms to the Currandooley Road turnoff on the left. Proceed down Currandooley Road for 5.1 kms to Y junction. Take the left fork marked Ellendon and travel for 1.8 kms to the Ellendon homestead. Follow the road past the homestead to green shearing shed which is the ride base. Tom will be there at 9.00 am to greet everyone.
Ride Description: This rides takes us among the wind turbines to the east of Lake George. Beautiful scenery and easy to moderate terrain. .Ride is approximately 12 kms, with a variety of terrain, from flat beside Lake George, undulating open land, to some hilly sections.

Ride Warnings/Alerts: Ride goes close to working wind turbines.
Ride Difficulty: ¾ Easy, ¼ Moderate
Horse Fitness: Horses must be moderately fit and sound
Estimated Duration: 5 to 6 hours including lunch
Catering: BYO morning tea and lunch
Equipment: Bring headstalls for tying, leading horses, other equipment as required by the individual.
Horse feed: Please bring your own
Water Availability: Dams
First Aid: A basic first aid kit will be carried on the ride.
Emergency Contact: Mobile phone and hand held radios will be carried on the ride
Helmets: All junior riders (under 18) MUST wear AS/NZ 3838 or ASTM F 1163 helmets less than five years old.
Horse Shoes: Recommended but not essential. It is recommended that unshod horses carry boots.
Dogs/Stallions: Not allowed
Participants will be required to adhere to the ATHRA Code of Conduct which can be found at: www.athra.com.au. It is highly recommended that you read the Code to keep up to date with all rules and regulations
