Ride Register: It is a requirement that all participants sign the ride register upon arrival at the ride base. A parent or guardian MUST sign the register for junior riders (under 18).
Ride Start Time: Saturday 2 August 2014 Time 10 AM Sharp. Please be early. NO LATE STARTERS, SORRY
Directions: From Braidwood take the Araluen Rd. After travelling approx. 5km turn left at the Cheese Factory sign. Follow this road to the T intersection, turn left (gravel road) don't take the Tudor Valley Rd. Turn left into the first gate past Tudor Valley Road. Park in the paddock, near the shearing shed.
Ride Description: A ride through eucalyptus and tree fern forest. Undulating terrain, creek crossing. We are following a narrow bike track and forest tracks. There may be some cantering & trotting on the forest roads.
Grid/Map/GPS reference: 1:25000 map MONGA
Ride Warnings/Alerts: Creek crossing, may encounter bikes & cars, wild animals, some steep inclines & declines.
Ride Difficulty: Moderate. Mostly walking with some trotting & cantering
Horse Fitness: Horses must be reasonably fit and sound.
Estimated Duration: 4.5 hrs includes lunch
Catering: Please bring your own morning tea & lunch.
Equipment: Bring halters and lead rope on ride for tying.
Horse feed: No horse feed
Water Availability: Dam and creek
First Aid: A basic first aid kit will be carried on the ride.
Emergency Contact:
Helmets: All junior riders (under 18) MUST wear AS/NZ 3838 or ASTM F 1163 helmets less than five years old.
Horse Shoes: Recommended but not essential. Recommended that unshod horses carry boots.
Dogs/Stallions are not allowed
Participants will be required to adhere to the ATHRA Code of Conduct which can be found at: www.athra.com.au . It is highly recommended that you read the Code to keep up to date with all rules and regulations
